This Lesson's Practice:
Observe Your Perceptions:
- Look around your environment with eyes open and say:
“I see no neutral things because I have no neutral thoughts.”
Assign Meaning Mindfully:
- Rest your gaze on each object or person long enough to say:
“I do not see a neutral [object/person], because my thoughts about [object/person] are not neutral.”
Repeat Daily:
- Practice this 3-4 times a day for a minute or so, or adjust as needed to remain comfortable. Use it whenever unease arises to bring awareness to the meaning your mind assigns to the world around you.
